Tear Trough Filler with PRP

Tear troughs (tissue underneath the eye) are a very delicate area of the face. The skin is thin and needs to be treated with appropriate treatments and/or products. When a patient has volume loss in this area, we can inject hyaluronic filler to fill the space. Adding PRP (platelet-rich plasma) allows for a more natural look. The PRP helps to 'blend' the filler so it remains to look soft and supple. PRP is a byproduct of your own blood. We draw your blood and spin it to separate the red blood cells from the platelets. The platelet portion is then blended with hyaluronic acid and injected into the tear trough area. PRP naturally absorbs faster than filler. Multiple treatments may be needed depending on how your body reacts. Some patients opt to have PRP only injected for a more 'natural' treatment. PRP causes an inflammatory response which produces collagen, naturally thickening skin. An in-person consultation is needed to assess if a patient is a candidate for this procedure.
